Project Summary

The R.U.R.A.L. project, Rural Unity for Rural Active Leaders, aims to improve the participation in democratic, social and political life of young people living in rural areas by involving and empowering youth organizations. The project draws inspiration from the goals of the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and the principles promoted by the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus. In order to bring young people closer to EU institutions, the project pursues the following objectives:

  1. To promote and develop structured transnational online and offline cooperation between different youth organizations, building and strengthening inclusive and solidarity-based partnerships.
  2. Provide the necessary resources for young people to become active citizens, agents of solidarity and positive change in their communities, inspired by EU values and European identity.

Project Implementation

The project involves the implementation of four main macro activities:

A workshop on EU policy in the field of political strategies, values and governance.

A training course on strengthening the capacity of youth organizations to participate in EU programs

A workshop based on role-playing that brings young people together to share experiences, opinions, and views in relation to youth policy and the changes expected at the European level in this area.
