Project Summary
Main topic: Youth and Municipality Global Law -YAMAG is a 24-month cooperation project between local public institutions and third sector associations from Italy, Spain, Croatia and Romania. The aim of the project is to encourage and boost the participation of young people in their local communities. Yamag is a project aimed at enhancing the civic and democratic participation of young people in the territories of the European partners.
Recognizing that youth is the future of the European Union, we are pleased to present the YAMAG project. This initiative is a response to the need for greater involvement of young people in decision-making processes, particularly highlighted by the challenges of the pandemic era.
Launched in response to the need for greater youth participation, particularly amidst the challenges of the post-pandemic era, YAMAG has two main objectives:
- To increase the participation of young people in civic and democratic life.
- To enrich opportunities for youth in their communities.
Project Implementation
The project includes the completion of three main phases:
In the first phase, the partners will conduct a desk research on the needs and position of young people at national, regional and local level. This will be followed by a youth questionnaire to see what the needs of young people are at the local level and to what extent they are active in the local community. In addition, as part of this phase, the partners will organize a focus group and a press conference where all the results will be presented.
In the second phase, a training course "Boosting youth participation" will be organized for the partner organizations. This will be followed by the development of the toolkit "Methodologies and tools for fostering youth participation".
The third phase will be dedicated to youth mobility and the Glocal Youth Program (GYP), with the aim of promoting the active participation of young people in the development of grassroots initiatives and collaboration with local policy makers.
